Bristol Modern Jive Club Classes

We offer modern LeRoc Classes in Bristol. No need to bring a partner as we all move around the room.

Sunday at 4pm - 6pm at St Francis Church Centre, North Street, Bedminster, Bristol BS3 1JP.

Line Dancing - 3pm, Sunday with the South Bristol Line & Country Dancers. All welcome. At St Francis Church Centre, North Street, Bedminster, Bristol BS3 1JP

Friday at 8pm - 10pm at The Page Community Association Hall, Page Road, Staple Hill, BS16 4NE.

No need to book in advance, just turn up on the day/night.

Beginner Level

We run a beginner class every week and a six week beginner course.

Once you have completed the six week course you should have a better feel for dancing and the beat of the music.

Improver Level

Improver level takes you into variation on the beginner moves.

Intermediate Level

This is where you develop your dancing with dips, drops and leans.

What is Leroc/About Modern Jive

LeRoc is the French for rock 'n' roll. It was combined into one word and has become part of the English Language. The dance itself evolved from the jive and rock 'n' roll and is a fun, stylish, modern jive which can be danced to virtually any music - from big band swing, to rock and roll, jazz and current chart hits.

What to Wear

Suitable footwear! You must be able to spin on a wooden floor, leather soles are good or dance trainers/ball room shoes.
